OUT OF TOWN
01 / HEAD TOWARD KILIMANJARO
The Escape Begins.
Leave Arusha or Moshi behind and travel through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania toward the Kikuletwa area.
The journey itself offers another glimpse of rural Tanzania beyond the national parks.
02 / ARRIVE AT THE OASIS
Then the Water Appears.
Step beneath the trees and discover clear blue-green water surrounded by roots and vegetation.
Drop the safari pace. This isn’t a place that needs a complicated itinerary.
03 / SWIM
Jump In.
Spend time swimming, floating or simply cooling off beside the springs.
Those who prefer staying dry can relax along the banks and enjoy the surroundings.
04 / LUNCH & SLOW TIME
Nothing Scheduled for a While.
Enjoy lunch and give yourself some unstructured time.
Swim again. Find some shade. Talk. Read. Do absolutely nothing productive.
That’s rather the point.
05 / RETURN
Back to Arusha or Moshi.
After a relaxed afternoon, begin the drive back and continue with the next chapter of your Tanzania journey.
GOOD TO KNOW
IS THE WATER ACTUALLY HOT?
Despite the popular “Hot Springs” name, visitors shouldn’t expect steaming thermal water. The attraction is the clear natural swimming water and oasis-like setting.
DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
Non-swimmers can still enjoy the surroundings, but anyone entering deeper water should be comfortable swimming and follow local safety guidance.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Swimwear, towel, sandals, sunscreen, a change of clothes and a waterproof bag for anything you’d rather not accidentally baptise.
CAN CHILDREN VISIT?
Families can visit, but children should be closely supervised around the water.
Some Adventures Are Better Barefoot
Leave the schedule behind for a day of clear water, shade and a little less urgency.
